Overview of Experience
Before starting
her private
practice in 1984 specialising in Eating and Trauma issues, Judy had a large range of work experiences, including being
co-director of a Women's Health Center, Assistant Director for a Displaced
Homemakers Program, Conflict Facilitator for a program in city schools,
and a counsellor for people with disabilities. She has worked with families
in the public schools, preschools, and a HeadStart program. She has done
abortion counselling, psychiatric counselling, and job counselling, and has led assertiveness
training workshops, groups for women with compulsive eating problems, and
empowerment workshops for survivors of trauma.
Currently she maintains a private practice in West Auckland, New Zealand,
is on faculty and develops curriculum/leads workshops for the The PSI Institute
and the Human Development and Training
Institutes in Auckland, as well as for the EMDR International Association, and the International Society for the Study of Trauma
and Dissociation's Psychotherapy Training Programs. She recently
co-authored a chapter in Robin Shapiro's book
EMDR Solutions II (2009) entitled.
